He lost to Novak Djokovic 7-6, 6-4 in the third round after a very long and tight game! Stan’s run in Madrid went well with a first win against Olivier Rochus 6-4, 7-6 and a very well managed second round match against Jurgen Melzer 6-1, 6-4! He then had to make way to Novak Djokovic, the best player in the game today. Stan is now about to take part in the Italian Open. He usually does well in Rome, indeed he reached the round of 16 on two occasions since 2008, and also reached the quarterfinals lately. He even reached the finals in 2008, only defeated by Novak Djokovic. Let’s hope Stan goes as far in the 2012 edition!Il s’est en effet incliné contre Novak Djokovic 7-6, 6-4 en huitième de finale, après un match de plus d’1h45 minutes! Stan s’était d’abord défait d’Olivier Rochus 6-4, 7-6 au premier tour, avant de balayer l’autrichien Jurgen Melzer au match suivant 6-1, 6-4! Il a finalement du céder face à la montagne Djokovic, actuel numéro 1 mondial, après un match indécis et serré jusqu’au bout! Il va désormais prendre la direction du Masters de Rome, tournoi qu’il affectionne et dans lequel il réussit traditionnellement bien : depuis 2008, Stan y a en effet atteint les huitièmes de finale à deux reprises, les quarts une fois et la finale une fois également! Espérons qu’il réédite l’exploit en 2012!
