Stanislas Wawrinka’s run in Monte-Carlo stops right before the semis.Stanislas Wawrinka s’arrête aux portes des demi-finales du Masters de Monte-Carlo. Stan was defeated 7-5, 6-4 by the king of clay Rafael Nadal himself, after quite a tough match by both players. Stan got rid of Feliciano Lopez, Pablo Andujar and Nicolas Almagro before he finally had to yield to the fourth spaniard on his way! For the first tournament since his returned to competition after a serious knee injury, Stan is getting back on tracks and his great run in Monte-Carlo is a very good sign for the rest of the season! Next stop, Estoril, and then the Madrid Open! Rafael Nadal, toujours irrésistible sur terre battue, a eu raison de Stan en deux sets très accrochés 7-5, 6-4. Le très beau parcours de Stan (victoires sur Lopez, Andujar, Almagro) s’arrête donc face au quatrième espagnole rencontré consécutivement, et par le maitre en la matière sur terre battue! Pour ce premier tournoi depuis sa blessure au genou, cette performance est porteuse d’espoirs pour la suite de la saison 2012! Stan va désormais prendre la route du tournoi d’Estoril puis de l’Open de Madrid!
