Stan Wawrinka

The swiss Davis Cup team lost to the USA 3-0. Roger Federer and his teammates could not do anything to prevent the very efficient american team from winning. The USA make it to the Davis Cup quarterfinals. The confrontation started with Stanislas Wawrinka’s defeat against Mardy Fish after a four hour game (6-2, 4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 9-7). Then Roger Federer lost to John Isner (4-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-2) before the third and decisive point was won by the americans in the doubles Fish/Bryan against Federer/Wawrinka (4-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3). The « Fedrinka » doubles team, gold medalist in the Beijing Olympics 2008 did not get the chance to bring Switzerland back on tracks, better luck next time !
