Stanislas Wawrinka flew to Australia after his loss in quarterfinals at the Chennai Open. He is about to take part in several exhibition games between january the 9th and january the 13rd. The World Tour Challenge exhibition tournament is a very good way for Stan to prepare for the Australian Open, first Grand Slam tournament of the season taking place several day later. A year ago, Stan reached the quarterfinals in Melbourne, getting the second Grand Slam quarterfinal spot of his career. In the World Tour Challenge Adelaide, Stan is part of the « international » team in this exhibition tournament. On tuesday the 10th, he plays against Tommy Hass in the singles and then teams up with Brad Gilbert to play the doubles game against Haas/McEnroe, both member of the « American team ». On wednesday the 11th, Stan plays against Alexandr Dolgopolov in the singles game and then Dolgopolov/Rafter ( »Australasian team ») in the doubles. Finally on thursday, Stan plays against Michael Llodra in the singles game and then Llodra/Leconte ( »Europe team ») in the doubles.

A Adélaïde, Stan fera partie de l’équipe « internationale » pour ce tournoi d’exhibition. Il affrontera mardi 10 janvier Tommy Haas en simple et, en compagnie de Brad Gilbert, la paire Haas/McEnroe en double, représentants de l’équipe « Amérique ». Le lendemain, Stan rencontrera Alexandre Dolgopolov en simple, puis la paire Dolgopolov/Rafter représentants de l’équipe « Australasie ». Enfin jeudi, Stan sera opposé à Michael Llodra en simple avant de défier l’équipe Llodra/Leconte en double, membres de l’équipe « Europe ».
